The Growing Israeli/Turkish Rivalry Might Soon Expand Into Jordan!
Turkiye, Syria, and Jordan signed a trilateral MoU in early April on transport cooperation that followed their meeting more than half a year prior last September where they first committed to reviving the Hejaz Railway. This late-Ottoman project connected Istanbul with Medina and Mecca but collapsed during World War I.
Its restoration in contemporary times would provide Turkiye with immense economic and strategic influence that’s expected to make Israel uncomfortable.
As for the recent conflagration, commentator Brian Berletic’s view is that the agenda was set twenty years ago, and that US Presidents, such as Obama, Biden and Trump, are working to this long term agenda. He makes the point that the nuclear enrichment deal that Obama made with Iran has continuously been broken by the Americans. So, Trump’s breaking of the deal was a continuation of American policy.
The Americans push, push and push until any deal that is made collapses. So Berletic thinks that there is nothing special about Trump. It’s performance art. It doesn’t really matter who is President! The policies are decided elsewhere and are not arbitrary but have coherence.
The plan is much like the British plan to destroy the German economy in 1914. The Americans see a window of opportunity to destroy the Chinese economy. The vulnerability of China is its dependence on fossil fuels. However, that window is closing, with Chinese development of alternative energy sources and closer cooperation with Russia (through pipeline infrastructure).
The American view is that, if something is not done now, China’s technological and economic development will surpass that of America to such an extent that it will be impossible for America to catch up.
The descent of the Middle East into chaos (Libya writ large) is not a bad outcome for the USA if it chokes off supply of fossil fuels to China!
Berletic keeps making the point that Israel is a proxy of the United States, which the latter finds useful to blame for the most egregious acts of barbarism. But ultimately Israel can be sacrificed—just as the Gulf States—in the interests of American Imperialism!
Of course, one can have a plan and it can be coherent, but that does not mean it will succeed. I think Trump will fail. I don’t think America has the industrial capacity to succeed. But we shall see.
